Regular physical activity promotes mental health, boosts quality of life and well-being, and helps prevent heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and cancers such as breast and colon cancer. Yet, over a third of UK adults do not meet the recommed levels of physical activity.

In our new report, we explore why many people aren't engaging in regular movement despite its clear advantages. The m is to help individuals find moments for movement that support good mental health and emotional balance.

Why Move?

Regular body movement can significantly contribute to better mental health by releasing feel-good hormones that reduce stress, anger, and improve self-image. It also enhances sleep patterns. Engaging in group activities like team sports or social classes offers additional mental health benefits.

Despite these benefits, many struggle with mntning enough physical activity. This Mental Health Awareness Week help individuals identify moments for movement within their dly schedules to benefit their mental well-being.

Learn More about Movement

The campgn emphasizes that it's not an exercise initiative; users should always consult a healthcare or fitness professional before starting any new exercise regimen.

For those with experiences of eating disorders or exercise addiction, the focus on regular physical activity might trigger concern. The intention is to support individuals in finding ways to incorporate movement into their dly routines for better mental health.
