Sara leverages her expertise in medical research and extensive experience within HHS to provide strategic counsel for providers, payers, startups, technology companies, investors, and stakeholders across various sectors including ML, ARVR applications, privacy regulations such as Part 2, HIPAA, GINA, BIPA, CCPA, data border transmissions, and consumerpatient rights laws like the ADA and Section 1557.
We have a robust track record in guiding clients through the implementation of compliance programs, launching innovative health projects, managing mergers and acquisitions involving sensitive data including digital health platforms, medical devices, web applications, and treatments, as well as navigating evolving regulatory environments for emerging technologies like implantable and wearable devices. Our experience exts to telehealth prescribing laws under the Ryan Hght Act and advising entities offering services in sensitive areas including behavioral healthcare, fertility, genetics, and substance abuse.
Sara is a champion of minor and patient rights, actively serving as a court-appointed guardian. Prior to embarking on her legal career, she combined her passion for science with medical research projects focused on epigenetics and the immunological responses of cancer patients. Before transitioning into private practice, Sara gned valuable experience working at the U.S. Department of Health and Services Office for Civil Rights.
