Empowering Women in Medicine: Highlighting Female Authors and Their Contributions

Read: 1477

Thieme is highlighting and celebrating female authors who are contributing to medical advancements worldwide through its #WomenInMedicine initiative. The United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, emphasizes the importance of ger equality in leadership roles across sectors such as global health.

Thieme shares its belief that women play a critical role in building a better future for everyone. There is an increasing number of women choosing careers in medicine and medical research; however, a ger gap remns prevalent today. According to data from the United Nations, women represent 70 of healthcare and social care workers but only account for 37 of first authors on medical research articles.

At Thieme, we are proud to publish research by female-identifying authors worldwide. To amplify their voices further and promote ger equality, we have launched a Women In Medicine collection that celebrates the contributions made by women in medicine across continents. We strive to provide free access to select articles and content by our female authors.

We encourage all parties involved, including authors, readers, editors, and employees at Thieme, to support the goal of achieving ger equality and empowering women worldwide through our publications. As a global publisher with privileged rights to publish works from various regions globally, Thieme stands behind United Nations' Sustnable Development Goals SDG, particularly SDGs 5 and 3 - ming to achieve ger equality and empower all women and girls, ensuring healthy lives for all ages.

Please join us in recognizing female authors by using #WomenInMedicine on social media platforms. Feel free to share your ideas on how Thieme can partner with you further to promote female authors' works at eml protected.
